Granada will be aiming to keep game tight
La Liga, 11am
Valencia have lost four of their last five games away from the Mestalla but they should be up to the task at struggling Granada.
An audacious chip from 18-year-old Carlos Soler gave Valencia a gritty 3-2 won over Celta Vigo on Thursday and Salvador Gonzalez’s men have won five of their last six home games, including a notable victory over leaders Real Madrid.
Striker Simone Zaza scored in that February match against Madrid but, as in his spell at West Ham, he has found goals hard to come by, scoring just twice.
Despite their mid-table berth Valencia have established internationals in Nani, Ezequiel Garay and key midfielder Dani Parejo.
They should claim three points but it may be a tight game. Granada, 19th in the table, were 1-25 to sink into the Segunda before this weekend’s games. The Nazaries have lost 18 of their 30 league games, conceding 62 goals and have hit the back of the net 26 times.
On-loan Mexican goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa has been a shining light in their relegation fight often keeping Granada in games. He made a sensational stop and saved a late penalty to secure a point in their 0-0 draw against Deportivo but may fail to keep a clean sheet this time.
Recommendation
Valencia to win & under 2.5 goals
