Football accumulator tips for Saturday April 9: Forest to flourish in 8-1 acca

Plymouth should strengthen their League One promotion hopes

The Premier League and EFL are heading into the final stretch of the season and it promises to be an intriguing Saturday, particularly in England's lower divisions.

For most teams in the Football League, there are only six matches remaining and there are key battles taking place at the top and bottom in the Championship, as well as in League One and Two.

All bets must be placed by 3pm on Saturday.

Racing Post football expert Aaron Ashley has picked:

Nottingham Forest to beat Birmingham

Plymouth to beat Burton

Port Vale to beat Oldham

Salford to beat Harrogate

Nottingham Forest v Birmingham

Promotion hopefuls Nottingham Forest have won eight of their last ten Championship clashes at the County Ground and they can strengthen their place in the playoffs by beating Birmingham, who have triumphed just once in their last 12 attempts on their travels.

Burton v Plymouth

Plymouth have not yet given up on securing automatic promotion from League One and this looks the perfect time to be travelling to Burton, who have lost five of their last six league games. The Pilgrims have won seven of their last eight without conceding.

Port Vale v Oldham

Port Vale are League Two's form team and they have forced themselves into the automatic promotion picture after losing only one of their last 17. With home advantage, third-placed Vale should readily outclass third-bottom Oldham.

Salford v Harrogate

Salford suffered their first defeat in 12 at home to Port Vale in midweek but they can return to winning ways at home to Harrogate. The Ammies are still in with a shot of a playoff place in League Two and should overcome their Yorkshire visitors, whose only win in nine came against rock-bottom Scunthorpe.
