Accumulator tips and predictions for Thursday
Racing Post football expert Aaron Ashley has picked:
Athletic Bilbao to beat AZ Alkmaar
Viktoria Plzen to beat Ludogorets
Bodo/Glimt or draw double chance v Union Saint-Gilloise
Copenhagen to beat Jagiellonia
Athletic Bilbao vs AZ Alkmaar
Athletic Bilbao are an extremely difficult side to beat at Estadio San Mames, where they have lost only two of their last 27 home matches. AZ could only edge past Elfsborg 3-2 at home in first Europa League fixture and they don't appear to have the tools to stop the Basques from prevailing.
Viktoria Plzen vs Ludogorets
Viktoria Plzen scored two late goals to salvage a 3-3 draw from their visit to Eintracht Frankfurt in their Europa League curtain-raiser and they should be too strong for Ludogorets. Plzen excel at home and they will find this much easier than last week's trip to Germany.
Union Saint-Gilloise vs Bodo/Glimt
Bodo/Glimt recorded an impressive 3-2 win at home to Porto in their Europa League opener and they are fancied to avoid defeat at Union Saint-Gilloise, who must respond to a 2-1 loss at Fenerbahce. The hosts have won only two of their last ten matches and are poor odds-on shots.
Copenhagen vs Jagiellonia
Copenhagen should find the Europa Conference League a more winnable level having competed in last season's Champions League. They qualified for the knockout stages of Europe's main competition at the expense of Galatasaray and Manchester United last term and should be too strong for Jagiellonia, who have lost four of their last six away games.
Football acca FAQs
What is a football accumulator (acca)?
A football accumulator, commonly referred to as an 'acca', is a single bet that combines multiple individual bets into one. Each selection within the accumulator must win for the bet to pay out, offering higher potential returns but at increased risk compared to single bets.
Can I place an acca on different markets?
Yes, you can combine various markets in an acca, including match winners, total goals, both teams to score, and more. However, most betting platforms require that selections within an accumulator are not related to ensure the bet is valid.
What is the advantage of placing an accumulator bet?
The main advantage of an accumulator bet is the potential for higher returns from a smaller stake since the odds of each selection are multiplied together. It adds excitement to watching multiple matches, as each leg of your acca needs to be successful for a return.
