Accumulator tips and predictions for Sunday

Racing Post football expert James Milton has picked:

Brest to beat Angers @ 13-10 with Ladbrokes

Sunderland to beat Portsmouth @ 10-21 with Ladbrokes

Chesterfield to beat Gillingham @ 4-5 with Ladbrokes

Liverpool to beat Manchester United @ 2-7 with Ladbrokes

Total odds: @ 6.84-1 with Ladbrokes

Odds correct at time of publication

Angers vs Brest

Brest have won four of their six games in this season's Champions League but have failed to hit the same heights in Ligue 1. However, they should be backed to pick up three points at Angers, who have lost five of their seven home matches in 2024-25.

Sunderland vs Portsmouth

Sunderland beat Championship promotion rivals Sheffield United 2-1 on New Year's Day and the Black Cats can extend their unbeaten run at the Stadium of Light by inflicting an eighth away defeat of the season on Portsmouth.

Chesterfield vs Gillingham

Chesterfield lost 2-1 at home to MK Dons on New Year's Day but they had won their previous three home matches in League Two. The Spireites should bounce back by beating Gillingham, who have lost all three of their post-Christmas fixtures to nil.

Liverpool vs Manchester United

Manchester United have lost five of their last six Premier League matches and are unlikely to stop the rot at Anfield. Leaders Liverpool have won ten of their last 11 home games in all competitions and the exception was a 2-2 draw with Fulham in which Andy Robertson was sent off in the 17th minute.

Football acca FAQs

What is a football accumulator (acca)?
A football accumulator, commonly referred to as an 'acca', is a single bet that combines multiple individual bets into one. Each selection within the accumulator must win for the bet to pay out, offering higher potential returns but at increased risk compared to single bets.

Can I place an acca on different markets?
Yes, you can combine various markets in an acca, including match winners, total goals, both teams to score, and more. However, most betting platforms require that selections within an accumulator are not related to ensure the bet is valid.

What is the advantage of placing an accumulator bet?
The main advantage of an accumulator bet is the potential for higher returns from a smaller stake since the odds of each selection are multiplied together. It adds excitement to watching multiple matches, as each leg of your acca needs to be successful for a return.
