AFC Fylde return to Wembley eight days after their 3-0 defeat to Salford in the National League playoff final, and they could be in for more heartache against champions Leyton Orient in the FA Trophy final.

The Coasters finished the season well and their battling victories over Harrogate and Solihull before the playoff final highlighted the strength of their side.

However, that loss last week is likely to be playing on the minds of the players, who are now resigned to at another season of non-league football.

The same cannot be said for Leyton Orient, who will no doubt still be on a high after winning the league three weeks ago.

Lack of match fitness could be a worry for the Londoners, but Justin Edinburgh’s side have played friendlies in an effort to stay focused and a trip to the home of English football will certainly act as a strong motivator.

Orient won 2-0 against Fylde when the sides met at Brisbane Road two months ago, and considering the champions kept clean sheets in their final three matches they could pacify Dave Challinor’s side once again.
