Tamworth vs Huddersfield predictions

Tamworth are in the first round of the FA Cup for the first time since 2013 and their reward for overcoming Macclesfield in their final qualifier is a visit from League One highflyers Huddersfield.

There should be a full house at The Lamb to mark the occasion and the BBC are clearly sensing a possible upset as the Terriers have to adjust to Tamworth’s 3G pitch.

The Lambs enjoyed promotion from the National League North last season and, while they took time to adjust to their new surroundings in the National League, they have found their feet and are reaping the rewards.

A 7-0 hiding at Barnet at the end of August has sparked improvement in Andy Peaks’s side, who have won five of their subsequent ten league outings to put distance between themselves and relegation.

Tamworth have won five of their last seven at home in all competitions and this may be a tricky test for the Terriers, who have won only one of their last seven away games, having suffered defeats at League Two outfits Doncaster and Walsall in earlier cup competitions.

Key stat

Huddersfield have lost five of their last six away games in the FA Cup.
