Northampton vs Kettering predictions

Northampton have been on the drift as a lengthening injury list casts a shadow over Jon Brady's selection plans for their FA Cup tie against local rivals Kettering at Sixfields.

There are 79 places between League One strugglers Northampton and Southern Premier Central pacesetters Kettering which still suggests quite a gulf.

There is also just 14 miles between them and 1,500 Poppies fans are making the short hop down the A43 for a match in which they should fancy their chances.

There is a proven look to a Kettering attack featuring a stack of ex-Premier League frontman including Nile Ranger, Marvin Sordell, Bruno Andrade and Gary Hooper.

And with the Cobblers missing attacking gems like Tyler Roberts, Sam Hoskins, Callum Morton and one or two others, the playing field is levelling.

Northampton, beaten 2-1 at Lincoln on Tuesday night, are short enough and look worth a lay against a club with a rich giantkilling history.

Key stat

Kettering have won nine of their last ten matches, scoring at least two in seven of their last eight.
