The two most successful sides in the history of the FA Cup, Arsenal and Manchester United, will meet in the third round of this season's competition after the pair were pitted against each other in Monday's draw.

Both sides were eased in the betting for Wembley glory as a result, with Arsenal 8-1 from 13-2 and holders United, who beat rivals Manchester City in last term's showpiece, a best-priced 18-1 to join the Gunners on 14 FA Cup triumphs this season.

Premier League leaders Liverpool and reigning English champions City will both face League Two opposition in the third round.

Liverpool, who are 4-7 to dethrone City as top-flight kings, host Accrington Stanley while the Citizens welcome Salford City, owned by some members of United's fabled Class of 92, to the Etihad.

The pair are 9-2 joint-favourites to triumph at Wembley on May 17 next year.

Fans of National League club Tamworth will already be looking forward to their home tie with eight-time winners Tottenham, who are 11-1 to win football's oldest club competition for the first time since 1991 this term.

Ties are set to be played over the weekend of Saturday, January 11, 2025.
