Sunday European football predictions

Title showdowns have not been restricted only to England this Sunday as Inter go toe-to-toe with Juventus in Serie A, and it could be a cagey clash as the pair bid to pile the pressure on leaders Napoli.

Inter eased to the Serie A title last season, finishing 19 points clear of their nearest pursuers Milan, but it looks like being a trickier defence of their crown as Napoli and Juve are showing improved form.

The Nerazzurri have lost only one of their 11 matches in all competitions this season and they have shown defensive steel, keeping six clean sheets  including at Manchester City in the Champions League.

However, Juventus remain unbeaten in Serie A, having won four and drawn four of their eight matches, and their success has also been built on strong defensive foundations.

The Old Lady have conceded only once in those eight league outings and those contests have featured a total of just 12 goals.

Nine of the last ten meetings between these sides have gone under 2.5 goals and there is every chance this latest encounter will follow suit.

In Ligue 1, second-placed Monaco can maintain their unbeaten start to the season with victory at Nice, who have gone six matches without a win.

Monaco have taken 20 points from eight league matches and they have triumphed on all three away trips to Lyon, Auxerre and Rennes.
