Sunday European football predictions

Roma wasted no time in dismissing Danielle De Rossi as manager in September after a slow start to the season but patience will be needed from the club as new boss Ivan Juric continues to find his feet in the capital.

There has been an upturn in results for Roma since that managerial switch, although they have still been held to draws by Athletic Bilbao and Monza either side of a 1-0 defeat to Elfsborg.

Juric is still trying to settle on his best starting line-up and Roma could be there for the taking when they host Inter on Sunday.

Inter face fierce competition from leaders Napoli for the Scudetto this season but have nonetheless started the Serie A season with four wins from seven games.

They are particularly good travellers and have sustained just one defeat in their last 23 road games in Serie A while they were on a three-game winning streak in all competitions before the international break.

Nicolo Barella should be back for Inter this weekend and they look a solid bet to prevail at the Stadio Olimpico.

The break came at a bad time for Ligue 1 giants Lyon, who have posted four straight wins, but they should continue that run when they visit Le Havre.

Olympiakos, Toulouse, Rangers and Nantes have all fallen to defeat to Lyon and Le Havre look set to follow suit.

The struggling hosts have lost five of their seven fixtures in Ligue 1 this season and were beaten 2-0 by Brest before the break.

Etienne Kinkoue was sent off in that contest and his absence could hinder their defence, so Lyon are worth backing at a shade of odds-on.
