Sunday's European football predictions

Roma have endured a miserable start to the season in Serie A and began the weekend in 12th place but there is evidence to suggest that manager Claudio Ranieri, their third head coach of the campaign, may be whipping them into shape.

It has been a rare good week for the Wolves, who built on last Saturday’s 4-1 win at home to Lecce with a 3-0 rout of Braga in the Europa League on Thursday.

Roma are yet to win in seven attempts on the road in Serie A, but a trip to struggling Como looks like the perfect opportunity for them to set the record straight.

The hosts are without a win in nine league games and two of their last three home outings have seen them thumped 5-1 by Lazio and outclassed in a 2-0 defeat by Fiorentina.

Real Betis are struggling to manage their Conference League commitments alongside their La Liga duties and their winless run may be extended to six with defeat at Villarreal.

Betis were able to hold leaders Barcelona to a 2-2 draw at home in their last league assignment but they have taken only six points from eight away games, losing 4-2 at Valencia and 2-0 at Real Sociedad in their latest two road trips.

The Yellow Submarine, who are flying high in fifth, have lost only two of their last 17 home league games and can come up with the goods.
