Sunday European football predictions

Inter racked up 94 points as they swept to the Serie A title last season and the Nerazzurri have hit the ground running in their Scudetto defence.

The champions signed off for the international break in style, thrashing Europa League winners Atalanta 4-0 at the San Siro to make it seven points from three matches this term.

Attacking stars Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram were a constant thorn in Atalanta's side but Inter were also resolute at the back, limiting La Dea to just one shot on target.

Inter have kept back-to-back clean sheets after drawing 2-2 at Genoa in their league opener and Monza seem unlikely to cause them too much trouble on Sunday.

Raffaele Palladino led Monza to a respectable 12th-placed finish last term but left the club for Fiorentina in the summer.

And Monza have made a slow start under new boss Alessandro Nesta, picking up one point from their opening three matches and drawing blanks against Empoli and Genoa.

Backing Inter to win a game featuring no more than three goals could be the value play.

Girona's summer exodus of players doesn't appear to have hit them too hard just yet.

The Catalans beat Osasuna and Sevilla before the international break but a maiden Champions League voyage starting next week will test their resolve and they could be put in their place by Barcelona in La Liga on Sunday.

Barca have made an exceptional start to life under Hansi Flick, winning all four of their league matches including a 7-0 mauling of Real Valladolid last time out.
