It has been a slow start to the Serie A season for Milan.

The Italian giants start the weekend in eighth position with just 14 points from nine matches, 11 adrift of leaders Napoli, although recent performances suggest things may be starting to look up for the Rossoneri. 

Twelve of Milan's 14-point tally have been collected in their last five assignments and they were arguably the better side in Tuesday's 2-0 loss to Serie A pacesetters Napoli.

Milan saw 62 per cent of the ball and won the shot count 13-9 against Napoli and they appear to be starting to find their feet under boss Paulo Fonseca.

The Rossoneri have an excellent opportunity to secure three points on Saturday when they play a Monza side who have won just one of their first ten matches.

Having loaned out last season's top scorer Andrea Colpani to Fiorentina, Monza have failed to score in four league matches already and they may struggle to land a blow on Milan.

St Pauli have had a tough time of it upon their return to the Bundesliga, taking just five points from eight matches to leave them in the relegation mix.

Hoffenheim are just one place above them in the standings but have played better in recent weeks, matching St Pauli's total points haul in their last three games.

That run featured visits to strong Stuttgart and Heidenheim outfits and they look worthy favourites at the Rhein-Neckar Arena.
