Saturday's European football predictions

There are five La Liga games on Saturday and one of the least glamorous on paper between Leganes and Mallorca could provide the best betting opportunity.

Wonderfully nicknamed 'the Cucumbers', Leganes have made a solid start to life back in the top flight, taking five points from three games.

Borja Jimenez's side opened with a 1-1 at Osasuna before beating Las Palmas on home turf and then drawing 0-0 at Valladolid on Wednesday.

Mallorca head to the Estadio Municipal de Butarque after respectable home draws with Real Madrid and Sevilla. However, they lost their only away match at Osasuna.

They won just twice on the road last season and usually struggle away from the Balearics.

In Serie A, Bologna's early woes make Empoli a tempting double chance option when they clash at the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara.

The Tuscan outfit drew 0-0 at Monza before running out the 2-1 winners at Roma and next face Bologna, who are yet to click under new boss Vincenzo Italiano.

An opening 1-1 draw against Udinese was followed by a 3-0 thumping at Napoli and there is clearly still some sorting out to do after last season's heroics under Thiago Motta, who jumped ship to Juventus.

Marseille were talked up as title contenders after their 5-1 win at Brest but were brought back down to earth by their 2-2 draw at home to Reims.

Opponents Toulouse have opened with a pair of draws and may struggle against Roberto De Zerbi's free-flowing outfit.
