Saturday European football predictions

Las Palmas are already prime relegation candidates in La Liga this season but, fresh from a morale-boosting win on Monday night, they can take down Girona at the Estadio Gran Canaria.

The Canary Islands club took on fellow strugglers Valencia in a key battle and emerged surprise 3-2 winners at the Mestalla. That win lifted them off the bottom of the table and they are only two points off safety.

Girona head into the weekend's action in the mid-table positions and things could be a lot worse given their squad is stretched by Champions League commitments this season.

But the bottom line is this is not the same Girona team as last season given they lost crucial players Aleix Garcia and Artem Dovbyk in the summer, while Savinho's loan spell ended before he moved to Manchester City.

With that in mind, it is worth taking a chance on a rejuvenated Las Palmas, who are worth backing draw no bet.

Napoli are the team to beat in Serie A this season and they can continue their excellent start to the campaign with a shutout success against Lecce.

New boss Antonio Conte is working his magic at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona with Napoli winning six of their opening eight fixtures in Serie A.

Now prime Scudetto contenders, their defensive organisation has been particularly eyecatching and they have recorded clean sheets in five of their last six games.

They are therefore worth backing to win to nil against a Lecce team who have scored a mere three goals in eight league assignments this term.
