Saturday's European football predictions

Only 36-goal Harry Kane outscored Serhou Guirassy in the Bundesliga last season and the Guinean has wasted no time in picking up where he left off, netting six times in his first five matches for new club Borussia Dortmund.

Guirassy scored a sensational 28 goals in as many German top-flight games in the 2023-24 campaign and seems to be enjoying the improved service he is receiving from BVB's talented creators, having notched twice in each of his last two appearances.

Given that Dortmund put seven past Celtic in the week and have scored a total of 17 goals in their last six meetings with Union Berlin, Guirassy is likely to get plenty of chances in the capital on Saturday.

He netted in both of his Bundesliga appearances against Union last term and looks a solid bet to bag in Berlin again.

Having taken 16 points from the first 18 available, Monaco are the only side keeping pace with Paris St-Germain in Ligue 1 and they should have enough to keep the pressure on the champions when they head to Rennes.

The Monegasques have won eight of their last nine French top-flight away matches – both of their road victories this season have been to nil. And they boast an excellent record against the Red and Blacks, having triumphed in six of their last nine league meetings.

Rennes' only win in their last five matches came against third-bottom Montpellier and they may struggle to keep a Monaco side who have netted at least twice in 12 of their last 13 Ligue 1 away games at bay for long.
