Saturday European football predictions

Werder Bremen vs Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich became the first team to score nine goals in a Champions League game as they dismantled Dinamo Zagreb 9-2 in midweek.

Harry Kane became the top English goalscorer in the history of the competition in the process and Bayern are short-priced favourites to get the better of Werder Bremen back in the Bundesliga.

Their hosts are unbeaten in their three league games, however, and may put up a fight.

Both teams have scored in three of Bremen's four competitive matches this term and they are fancied to get on the scoresheet in this one.

Bayern have not been faultless at the back under new manager Vincent Kompany and they may concede , although they should have too much going forward for Saturday's opponents.

Both teams have scored in two of Bayern's three league wins this term and a repeat of that is the pick.

Lille vs Strasbourg

Since Chelsea’s owners took over Strasbourg in June last year, it has been clear that their priority has been creating a breeding ground for youngsters.

Liam Rosenior’s squad has an average age of 22.4, the youngest  in Ligue 1 by some distance, and that brings with it inconsistency.

They beat Rennes 3-1 this term but also surrendered a 3-1 lead to lose 4-3 to Lyon.

Something that has been almost constant for this side, however, is both teams finding the net on their travels.

Both teams have scored in 13 of Strasbourg's last 15 Ligue 1 away games and in all four league games they have played this season.

Lille will be looking to bounce back from defeats against PSG and Saint-Etienne and both teams are fancied to play their part in an entertaining affair.
