Real Sociedad have put their Europa League aspirations back on track with four points from their last two La Liga matches and they can leapfrog Getafe into fifth with a home victory over Granada.

Sociedad had suffered four consecutive La Liga defeats prior to beating bottom club Espanyol 2-1 on Thursday and they followed that up just four days later with a respectable 1-1 draw at a Levante side who had previously held Sevilla, Valencia and beat Real Betis.

La Real have won nine of their 17 home games this term and with their three remaining fixtures against Villarreal, Sevilla and Atletico Madrid, they require maximum points from this match if a top-five finish remains a realistic ambition.

And Imanol Alguacil’s side should have the beating of Granada, who have recorded victory in only two of their last 14 La Liga away assignments, a sequence which includes eight defeats.

The visitors have slipped to tenth in the Spanish standings after winning just one of their last six league fixtures and they have suffered home defeats to Villarreal and Eibar in that time.

But for all Sociedad's attacking talent - including Willian Jose, Adnan Januzaj and Mikel Oyarzabal - they don’t boast the same quality in defence and it is a weakness Granada can expose.

Sociedad have conceded in each of their last eight league matches and Granada, who have netted five goals in their last three league assignments, have the tools to grab a consolation.
