Thursday's Europa League football predictions

Four points is a healthy haul after two games in this season's Europa League and Athletic Bilbao can build on that tally with victory over Slavia Prague on Thursday.

The club from the Basque country have juggled domestic and continental duties well this campaign and sit fifth in La Liga while also in contention for the top eight in the Europa League.

They followed a resolute 1-1 draw away to Roma with a 2-0 win at home to AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League and are fresh from a 4-1 mauling of Espanyol in La Liga.

Inaki and Nico Williams make for a dangerous combination down the flanks and they should be too hot to handle for Slavia Prague, who were not really tested in games with Ludogorets and Ajax.

Erik Botheim knows a thing or two about scoring in continental competition, having impressed for Bodo/Glimt during the 2021-22 Europa Conference League.

And the Norwegian is now making his mark at Malmo, having bagged a brace against Qarabag last time out in the Europa League.

He is among the top scorers in this year's Allsvenskan with 12 goals and is worth backing to net in front of his own fans against Olympiakos.

Down in tenth in the Belgian Pro League, it has not been the best season for Union St Gilloise, who have taken one point from their two Europa League games.

They should be opposed against Midtjylland, who are going well in the Danish Superliga and followed their draw with Hoffenheim with a win away to Maccabi Tel-Aviv in Europe's secondary competition this term.
