Rangers vs Tottenham predictions
Ange Postecoglou's time in charge of Tottenham has been tumultuous and the former Celtic manager can expect a lively atmosphere when he takes his Spurs side to Rangers in the Europa League.
Tottenham's recent Premier League results encapsulate their spectacular inconsistency. They suffered a shock home defeat to Ipswich before the November international break but roared back with a stunning 4-0 away victory over champions Manchester City.
That triumph was followed by a 1-1 draw with Fulham and a 1-0 defeat at Bournemouth before Sunday's 4-3 loss to Chelsea at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where Spurs led 2-0 inside 11 minutes.
The ante-post Europa League favourites won their first three matches in Europe before a 3-2 loss away to Galatasaray and a 2-2 draw at home to Roma so backing over 3.5 goals looks a solid bet when they travel to Ibrox.
Rangers, like their visitors, are enduring a tough domestic campaign, having fallen 11 points behind rivals Celtic in the William Hill Scottish Premiership.
However, manager Philippe Clement has conjured up some fine performances in Europe to ease the pressure on himself and his squad.
The Gers picked up seven points from three away fixtures against Malmo, last season's Conference League champions Olympiakos and Nice, who were thumped 4-1 on the French Riviera on matchday five.
Clement's men had been beaten 4-1 at home by Lyon in their second game of the league stage but they hammered FCSB 4-0 in their most recent European fixture at Ibrox and should be confident of rattling a depleted Spurs defence.
Since the impressive win in Nice, Rangers have racked up three straight league victories by an aggregate score of 10-0 and they face a Tottenham side missing key centre-back Cristian Romero.
The stopper lasted less than 15 minutes on his return from injury against Chelsea and the fitness of fellow centre-back Micky van de Ven is also being monitored closely.
With the dependable Ben Davies sidelined, youngster Archie Gray could be pressed into service at the heart of defence although Postecoglou still has a host of talented midfielders and attackers available.
Rodrigo Bentancur and Yves Bissouma should start in midfield as both are serving domestic bans and, despite their patchy form, Tottenham have scored 17 goals in eight games since the start of November.
But Rangers also pose a threat through free-scoring wingers Vaclav Cerny and Hamza Igamane so Postecoglou may well face an awkward test on his return to Glasgow.
