Fenerbahce vs Manchester United predictions

Manchester United returned to winning ways with a gutsy 2-1 victory at home to Brentford and they can chalk up their first Europa League maximum of the season by defeating Jose Mourinho's Fenerbahce in Istanbul.

Erik ten Hag has been displaced by Southampton's Russell Martin at the top of next Premier League manager to go markets, but he still looks far from secure and faces another tricky week with the trip to Turkey preceding a weekend fixture away to West Ham.

However, Ten Hag has been in the job for almost two and a half years and is edging closer to outlasting Mourinho, who was dismissed close to the midway point of his third season at Old Trafford.

Mourinho followed his United departure with stints at Tottenham and Roma and is already coming under pressure at Fenerbahce with the team placed fourth in the Turkish top flight.

The Istanbul giants have taken 17 points from eight league games and are off to a solid enough start in the Europa League thanks to a 2-1 success at home to Union Saint-Gilloise and a 1-1 draw away to FC Twente, but there was a negative reaction to Sunday's 2-2 draw away to Samsunspor and it annoyed Mourinho, who was irritated by some of the post-match questioning.

Influential left-back Jayden Oosterwolde suffered a serious knee injury in the Samsunspor stalemate and his absence weakens Fenerbahce's suspect defence.

United have absentee issues with several players injured and Bruno Fernandes suspended, but they showed quality and spirit in Saturday's success over Brentford and look overpriced to make it two wins from two.
