West Brom vs Burnley predictions
West Brom and Burnley have been stuttering in the Championship promotion race and the pair's progress could be further checked with a draw at the Hawthorns on Thursday.
Albion flew out of the blocks, taking 16 points from their opening six games, but they have not tasted victory in seven subsequent matches.
Carlos Corberan's injury-hit Baggies have taken a few knocks to their confidence and needed a gutsy performance to secure a 1-1 draw at Luton on Friday, when the shot count finished 13-10 in the Hatters' favour.
However, West Brom fans will expect their team to push for victory against Burnley, who are going through a similarly tough time with regards to player absences and a loss of form.
The Clarets have gone three league matches without a win for the first time this season and they failed to muster a single shot on target during Sunday's dispiriting 1-0 defeat at Millwall.
Burnley's loss in the capital left them fourth in the second tier but even that position might be considered a flattering representation of a side whose expected-goals figure is only 12.99, the second lowest in the Championship.
However, Scott Parker's side have defended well – their xG against figure of 11.96 is the third best in the division – and they will probably adopt a cautious approach at the Hawthorns, where tight, low-scoring matches have become commonplace.
West Brom's six home games this season have generated a miserly three goals and the last two, against Millwall and Cardiff, finished 0-0.
Another tight battle can be expected and that increases the possibility of the points being shared.
Key stat
West Brom have drawn their last five matches.
