Wednesday's Championship predictions
Sunderland have looked comfortable at the top of the Championship table and they can maintain their superb start with a victory over Luton at Kenilworth Road.
Achieving consistent results in English football's second tier is a tough challenge but Sunderland have so far been up to the task.
Regis Le Bris's side have collected 22 points from ten games and maintained a high standard on their return from the international break with Sunday's 1-0 success at Hull.
The Black Cats have triumphed on three of five road trips and they have the right mix of steel and quality to overcome Luton, who are sure to have been boosted by their weekend 3-0 home success over bitter rivals Watford.
Beating the Hornets was a huge fillip for the Hatters, who had fallen well short of expectations, but it came at a cost as defenders Reece Burke and Tom Holmes were unable to finish the match.
Luton had gone into the Watford game without injured defenders Teden Mengi, Amari'i Bell, Mads Andersen and Ruell Walters and their selection problems could play into the hands of Sunderland, who look worth a wager on the draw-no-bet market.
Plymouth were hammered 5-0 at Cardiff on Saturday but they can bounce back immediately by picking up at least a point at Millwall.
Wayne Rooney's side were hampered by Ibrahim Cissoko's first-half red card at the weekend, but they have competed well in most of their fixtures and can frustrate the Lions, who are a point worse off having won only two of their ten matches.
