Rochdale v Salford

Salford could do with a breather after playing five of the top seven in League Two in the last six weeks, and a short trip to Rochdale might just be what's required.

They are certainly taking on Dale at a seemingly decent time. Robbie Stockdale's hosts have failed to find the net in any of their last three matches.

Salford are still on the fringes of the playoff hunt having come through a brutal run of games. They are unbeaten in six, a run which saw them take points off Sutton, Forest Green and Exeter and secure a 2-1 road win at Swindon.

Carlisle v Newport

It's played four, won four under Paul Simpson and after beating Northampton 2-1 in the last of those successes at the weekend, Carlisle should fear no-one in League Two.

Forget relegation, Carlisle are looking up and should feel well capable of giving highflying Newport a real test.

The Exiles are up to third after a 2-0 win at Stevenage, but that came at a cost with injuries to Aaron Lewis and Jake Cain. And they've won only three of their last eight.

Scunthorpe v Barrow

Scunthorpe's prospects of just a second win this year were snuffed out on Saturday when Joe Mathieson was sent off with the Iron 1-0 up and cruising at home to Colchester.

They hung on for an hour before Colchester hit the ten-man hosts with three goals.

You get a sense Tuesday night is almost last-gasp for Keith Hill's men when they take on League Two opponents Barrow and they look well worth the risk at a decent price.

Barrow's form is every bit as poor as Scunny's with no wins in seven and just one goal scored in their last five, and they were indebted to keeper Paul Farman for managing to come away from Rochdale with a 0-0 draw at the weekend.
