Sunderland vs West Brom predictions
Away wins have been hard to come by in the Championship this season with only 45 registered from 191 fixtures.
However, West Brom are bucking that trend and they can take maximum points from their trip to promotion rivals Sunderland on Tuesday night.
A road win-rate of 23.56 per cent in the second tier this season is markedly down on the 32.07 seen last term, but the Baggies are averaging 1.87 points per away league game, higher than any other team in the division.
Albion won 2-1 at Hull before the international break and they resumed their campaign on Saturday with a 2-2 home draw against Norwich, which was a frustrating experience given they had twice as many shots as the Canaries (22 to the visitors' 11).
Carlos Corberan's side have found wins harder to come by recently but they head to Wearside at the right time because Sunderland are hindered by a lengthening injury list.
The Black Cats dug in to draw 1-1 at Millwall on Saturday, when their nine-man bench included four players – Zak Johnson, Ben Middlemass, Harrison Jones and Trey Samuel-Ogunsuyi – yet to make a Championship appearance.
Sunderland will have more options against Albion with Jobe Bellingham, Patrick Roberts and Trai Hume available after suspension, but fatigue could be an issue after such a physically demanding afternoon at the Den.
Regis le Bris's side were second-best in a laboured second-half performance in the capital and the quick return to action may work against them, allowing West Brom to collect their seventh league win of the campaign.
