Stoke vs Derby predictions

Stoke and Derby waited over two months to draw a game and now they just can't stop doing it.

Narcis Pelach's Potters, without a stalemate in their first eight games of the season, have drawn three of their last four.

And Paul Warne's Derby, whose first nine matches were either wins or losses, are on a run of three straight 1-1 draws.

Two of those were at Millwall and Oxford, their only points on the road this season, and the Rams can get another in a match tipped to end all-square.

There isn't much to commend Stoke at the moment, four games without a league win and dropping down the table. This is a side who scored 11 goals in two hammerings of Middlesbrough in the EFL Cup and Portsmouth in the Championship, and 12 in their other 14 fixtures.

If Pelach's men aren't that easy to call, then Derby under Warne are bobbing along nicely.

Like Stoke, they do most of their best work at home with only two points out of a possible 18 gleaned on their travels. But their four road losses in six have come at Blackburn, Watford, Sheffield United and Sunderland so punters can probably cut them some slack.

Warne will try to be compact and combative at the bet365 Stadium and they aren't an easy side to overcome.

Stoke played in midweek, going down 3-2 at Southampton in the EFL Cup, and have won only one of their last ten in all competitions.

Key stat

Derby's Ebou Adams has made 45 tackles, the second most by any player in the Championship.
