Best bets for Saturday's 12.30pm EFL kick-offs

Middlesbrough were in scintillating form heading into the midweek round of action in the Championship, winning three matches on the spin and scoring 15 goals in the process, but they were blunted by Blackburn on home soil, going down 1-0.

Michael Carrick's team dominated the possession on Wednesday and also won the shot count, so they won't be panicking heading into their clash with managerless Hull, who parted ways with head coach Tim Walter after their own midweek defeat.

The Tigers were beaten 2-0 by Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday - their fourth straight loss - and they are now nine games without a victory.

Goals have also been an issue for Hull, who have netted just four times during their winless spell, but they will fancy their chances of getting on the scoresheet at the Riverside, with Boro having conceded in eight of their last nine games.

Even when they were racking up the goals during their recent winning run, Boro were still conceding, so while it pays to side with the Teessiders to win, Hull can at least get on the scoresheet.

Stepping into League Two, where there are only two games on the schedule with most sides in FA Cup action, there could be value in siding with rock-bottom Carlisle to get the better of Crewe on home soil.

Mike Williamson's strugglers have turned a corner, as they are unbeaten in four and have tightened up at the back, conceding just twice in the process.

Crewe have won just one of their last five away games and the Cumbrians are worth siding with in the draw-no-bet market.
