Best bets for Saturday's 12.30pm EFL kick-offs

There are three Championship fixtures being shown live on Sky Sports+ at 12.30pm on Saturday and a tussle between bitter rivals Luton and Watford takes centre stage.

Luton have had a miserable start to the season following their relegation from the Premier League and they sit only one point above the bottom three after nine matches.

The Hatters started the campaign with three defeats and one draw before recording back-to-back victories over Millwall and Sheffield Wednesday to steady the ship.

But Luton have regressed and they come into this derby dust-up having suffered defeats at Plymouth and Sheffield United either side of a 2-2 draw at home to newly-promoted Oxford.

Watford are flying high in sixth, although three straight away defeats at Sheffield United, Norwich and Preston tempers enthusiasm ahead of their trip to Kenilworth Road.

Punters may instead be better suited to swerving the match betting and focus on goals, with both teams to score and over 2.5 goals having obliged in all four of Luton's home league games this term.

Both teams have scored in six of Watford's opening nine league matches, with their only clean sheet coming at home to struggling Stoke on matchday two.

Plymouth have started to find some form under the management of Wayne Rooney and they can avoid defeat at Championship basement boys Cardiff, who have taken only five points from their nine games.

The Pilgrims have beaten highflying Sunderland, Blackburn and Luton since the middle of September and they have only narrowly lost 1-0 at top-four pair Burnley and West Brom in their two most recent away trips.
