QPR vs Coventry predictions

Coventry have performed below expectations in the opening ten games of the Championship season but they can kickstart their campaign with a victory over fellow strugglers QPR at Loftus Road.

Pressure has mounted on Sky Blues manager Mark Robins, who has been in his position since March 2017 and is the second longest serving manager in the EFL.

Robins took Coventry from League Two to within a penalty shootout of reaching the Premier League, and those achievements should go some way towards shielding him from short-term turbulence.

However, the 54-year-old is experienced enough to know that a return of eight points from a possible 30 is nowhere near enough to meet raised expectations.

Coventry have lost four of their last five league fixtures but they competed reasonably well in Saturday's 1-0 loss at Preston and their trip to west London offers a decent opportunity to turn the corner.

QPR have won just one of their ten league fixtures and dropped to the foot of the table after their weekend 2-1 reverse at home to Portsmouth. Their poor start to the season has been unexpected given the progress made under head coach Marti Cifuentes in the second half of last season.

Cifuentes inherited a tough situation and did a superb job by changing to a more possession-based playing style and steering QPR to safety with a game to spare.

However, after a busy summer in the transfer market, his much-changed squad have struggled to find any rhythm or consistency.

The Hoops have suffered four successive losses, including a pair of recent reverses to promoted sides, and their poor start looks set to continue.
