Millwall vs Burnley predictions

A strong start on their return to the Championship has fizzled out somewhat for Burnley, who have drawn four of their last six matches and may be set for further frustration at the Den.

The Clarets are still very much in the hunt for an immediate return to the Premier League, second in the table and just five points behind leaders Sunderland before the weekend’s fixtures, but their recent results will have some fans worrying.

All four of their recent draws came against sides in the bottom half of the table in Oxford, Preston, Hull and QPR.

A lack of cutting edge has cost them three points in those outings, suggesting more frustration is on the cards against a Millwall side who have gone 11 games without conceding more than one goal in a match.

Lions manager Neil Harris is a master at irritating the big boys by setting up a resolute defence, as shown by his team's draw with West Brom last month and 1-0 win over champions Leicester towards the end of last season.

Burnley have a much stronger side than their hosts – and most of the division – but it could be argued that Scott Parker is not getting the best out of his squad.

Vincent Kompany helped the Clarets romp to the Championship title when the Lancashire outfit were last in the second tier but Parker is struggling to replicate that form.

The Den is never an easy place to go and the Lions, who are unbeaten in four games, should have enough to make it five draws in seven for faltering Burnley.
