Luton vs West Brom predictions

The disappointment of being relegated from the Premier League has shown in the start of Luton’s Championship campaign, with the Hatters having won only three of their opening 12 games to find themselves third from bottom in tier two.

The pressure on manager Rob Edwards is growing and three defeats in four - his side let slip a 2-0 lead slip to lose at Coventry on Saturday - makes this an important match at home to West Brom.

Luton may be buoyed by the fact that they have taken seven of their 11 points this season in their last four outings at Kenilworth Road, although their two victories came at home to a travel-sick Watford and mid-table Sheffield Wednesday.

In West Brom, the Hatters host a team flying high in the playoff places and all three of Luton's meetings with top-six sides this season have resulted in defeat.

However, after collecting 16 points from their opening six league matches, the Baggies are winless in six and are on a run of four consecutive draws.

The goals have dried up for Carlos Corberan’s visitors, who have fired blanks in four of their last five, although Luton inherit the division’s third-worst defence and are in the midst of an injury and suspension crisis at the back.

All things considered, these out-of-form teams may combine to put on an entertaining encounter and there have been plenty of goals at Kenilworth Road this season.

All six of the Hatters' Championship home outings have featured three or more goals, with both teams scoring on five occasions.

And while recent results for both sides have been poor, there is plenty of attacking talent on show.

Key stat

Six of Luton’s last seven Championship fixtures have featured over 2.5 goals.
