The pressure is growing on Jan Siewert and Huddersfield's beleaguered German gaffer could be feeling bitter after Fulham have visited the John Smith's Stadium.

Siewert needed a strong start to appease the restless natives, but the troubled Terriers have been as meek as they were in last season's Premier League relegation campaign.

A 2-1 home defeat to Derby was followed by a 1-1 draw at QPR when, if anything, Town were the side happy with a point.

Siewert made ten changes for Tuesday's League Cup tie at home to Lincoln and his side were outplayed in the 1-0 loss to the Sky Bet League One side.

Rookie keeper Ryan Schofield was Huddersfield's man of the match and the fans had turned on the boss by the full-time whistle.

Huddersfield's confidence has gone and so too has the belief in the manager, at least from supporters, who have witnessed just one win in 18 matches under Siewert.

That suggests home advantage won't be worth a great deal and the players could buckle if the heat continues from the stands.

It's an understandable reaction from the Town faithful, although Siewert is right in saying his new signings were all fairly cheap arrivals with Tommy Elphick, Fraizer Campbell, Reece Brown and loanees Trevoh Chalobah and Kamil Grabara among those to join.

Some big names such as Aaron Mooy, Matthias Jorgensen and Philip Billing have departed in the summer to leave a mainly young side who need time to find their feet.

Karlan Grant has scored Huddersfield's goals this season and they were both from the spot, leading to concerns over a lack of creativity in the final third as well as obvious defensive nervousness.

Fulham, with a 1-0 defeat on the road, were one of only two teams to lose to Huddersfield in last season's Premier League - Wolves (twice) were the other.

There's a better spirit around the Cottagers these days after Scott Parker was given the resources over the summer to reshape the squad. Aleksandar Mitrovic and Tom Cairney are among the strong characters in dressing room who are prepared to help get Fulham back into the Premier League.

Cairney and Mitrovic scored in Fulham's 2-0 victory over Blackburn last time out as Parker's outfit recovered from the shock of an opening-day 1-0 loss at Barnsley.

Fulham have brought in veteran midfield warhorse Harry Arter, Championship regular Harrison Reed and the exciting talents of Anthony Knockaert, Bobby Reid and Ivan Cavaleiro to supplement the quality already at the club and promotion must be the aim.

Fulham draw no bet
