Coventry vs Sheffield United predictions
Sheffield United have been as consistent as anyone in the Championship promotion race and they can move to the head of affairs with a victory at Coventry.
Keeping faith with head coach Chris Wilder was by no means a simple choice for the Blades' hierarchy, who must have been concerned by the manner of club's relegation from the Premier League.
Losing had become a habit for the south Yorkshire side, who finished the 2023-24 campaign with just 16 points, but there were no panic buttons pressed in the summer and Wilder's resurgent side have transitioned from serial losers into a winning machine.
The Blades haven't scored more than two league goals in any game this season, but they are a tough side to play against and have been strong enough to emerge on the right side of several tight matches.
While Sheffield United are surpassing expectations, Coventry have struggled to match their pre-season billing.
The Sky Blues mustered just four wins from their opening 14 games and long-serving head coach Mark Robins, paid the price this month when he was relieved of his duties after a 2-1 loss at home to Derby.
Coventry are an attacking side, who are third on the second-tier shot statistics with a tally of 206 and fourth in terms of their total XG of 23.52.
However, they have kept just two clean sheets since the start of the season and their soft underbelly leaves them vulnerable against the Blades, who look a solid wager to grind out an 11th league win of the campaign.
