Cardiff vs Blackburn predictions

Omer Riza has been doing a fantastic job as Cardiff's interim manager and he can enhance his long-term job prospects by steering the Bluebirds to a home win over Blackburn.

Cardiff started the season in dismal fashion under Erol Bulut, who lost his job after presiding over five defeats and a draw in six Championship fixtures.

But they have responded superbly under Riza, who has helped them rack up 14 points in eight games.

Riza's team were beaten 1-0 at Luton on Wednesday, ending a six-game unbeaten run, but they delivered a confident, well-organised performance and could feel a little short-changed having won the shot count ten to eight.

The Bluebirds have energised their fanbase with a run of four successive home wins and their rising confidence contrasts sharply with Blackburn, who are on the slide after three successive defeats.

Rovers manager John Eustace continues to see plenty of positives despite the downturn in results but his team have gone four games without scoring and were on the wrong end of a midweek smash-and-grab when they lost 2-0 at home to Stoke.

Eustace's side registered 25 shots against the Potters but they lacked conviction at the sharp end and Japanese centre-forward Yuki Ohashi failed to score for a ninth successive game.

It was only Blackburn's second Championship home loss of the season but they are yet to win on their league travels and could become the latest victims of Cardiff's Riza-inspired revival.
