Barnsley vs Stockport predictions
Goals haven't been in short supply for Barnsley or Stockport this season and a high-scoring encounter could be on the cards when the League One promotion hopefuls clash at Oakwell on Saturday evening.
The Tykes have scored 12 goals and conceded ten in their seven league assignments, leaving them joint-third in the combined charts, while County have scored ten times and let in six.
Both teams like to play attack-minded football and while that can increase the chances of goals, it also tends to leave defences exposed and that was apparent in Barnsley's 7-0 defeat at Manchester United in the League Cup last week.
Darrell Clarke's side responded well with a 2-1 win at Burton Albion last time out and they now head back to Oakwell, a stadium where they have scored two or more goals in three of their last four matches in all competitions.
Visitors Stockport are yet to taste defeat in four away games this season and they have been in good scoring touch, beating Blackpool 3-0 and Accrington 4-1 during that run.
It's also notable that three of County's last four outings have ended in 4-1 scorelines, two of those in favour of Dave Challinor's troops, while they have hit two or more goals in five of their nine fixtures this term.
The pair played out 3-3 and 2-2 draws when they were last in the same division 20 years ago, and given Stockport scored 96 league goals last term and Barnsley 82, it could be just as lively tonight.
