Chelsea Women vs Celtic Women predictions

Chelsea made a big stride towards retaining their Women's Super League title when they beat Manchester City on Saturday and Celtic are unlikely to provide much of a hurdle in their latest Champions League group game as they attempt to capture Europe's top prize for the first time.

The domestic league table has a nice look to it for Chelsea as they sit two points ahead of City with a game in hand following their 2-0 success and they have won all three of their European group matches, including a 2-1 success at Parkhead last week.

They are predictably strong favourites to make it four out of four but Sonia Bompastor's team may not run riot.

While holders Barcelona are the only team to have beaten them in the Champions League in their last 23 matches, none of their victories in this year's competition - a 3-2 win over Real Madrid and a 3-1 success against Dutch side Twente as well as the success against Celtic - have been cakewalks and they had to come from behind to win in Glasgow last week.

There is a big gulf between the English and Scottish top flights but while Celtic are fifth in their table, they have conceded just nine goals in 13 games and three of those came in a defeat to Rangers on Sunday.

They lost 4-0 in Madrid and Chelsea may not better that result, particularly as striker Aggie Beever-Jones is suspended after a late red card last week, and the Londoners have scored more than three times in just two of their last 18 outings in the competition.
