Wednesday's Champions League predictions

Girona vs Feyenoord

Girona suffered last-minute heartbreak in their Champions League debut against Paris Saint Germain to lose 1-0 but they are favourites to get a first victory when they host Feyenoord.

Shakhtar Donetsk vs Atalanta

Both of these teams played out goalless draws in their first Champions League games but Atalanta are fancied to come out on top.

The visitors were a David Raya double save away from beating Arsenal and this is a significant step down in class on those opponents.

Shakhtar drew with fellow Serie A side Bologna but lost the shot count 17-4 and rode their luck.

Benfica vs Atletico Madrid

Atletico Madrid have won just one of their last nine Champions League away games and face a tough challenge against a Benfica team who have won four on the spin.

Dinamo Zagreb vs Monaco

Monaco have had one of the best starts to the season of any team in Europe, winning five and drawing one of their opening six league games and beating Barcelona in their Champions League opener.

They were the beneficiaries of a red card in that game but still had to get the win and did so impressively.

Adi Hutter’s side face a Dinamo Zagreb team who suffered a record defeat last time out, losing 9-2 to Bayern Munich.

The Croats followed that with a 4-1 defeat to Slaven Belupo and may fall to another heavy defeat.

Lille vs Real Madrid

Facing Real Madrid in the Champions League is as tough as challenges get but having an in-form striker helps and Lille have just that in Jonathan David.

The 24-year-old has scored four goals in his last two games and bagged three goals in five Conference League starts last term.

RB Leipzig vs Juventus

RB Leipzig conceded a 90th-minute winner against Atletico Madrid two weeks ago and face a tough test  as they host Juventus, who beat PSV 3-1 in their opener.

Sturm Graz vs Club Brugge

Brugge have a rock-solid record against Austrian teams, winning five of their last six meetings, but they will have to put their poor recent form behind them to beat Sturm Graz.
