Slovan Bratislava vs Manchester City predictions
Slovan Bratislava endured a 5-1 humbling away at Celtic on their Champions League bow a fortnight ago and that is far from ideal preparation for a showdown with Premier League champions Manchester City, who are as short as 1-25 for victory in Slovakia.
The Citizens have been frustrated in draws in three of their last four matches in all competitions, including a goalless game at home to Inter in their Champions League curtain-raiser before Premier League stalemates with ten-man Arsenal and Newcastle.
The irreplaceable Rodri has been ruled out for the season and brilliant Belgian Kevin De Bruyne is unlikely to be risked until after the international break, but even a below-strength City should still stroll to success in Bratislava.
Celtic had 16 shots, 11 of which were on target, and forced 11 corners in their rampant victory over Slovan, whose lack of European quality and pedigree was starkly exposed in Glasgow.
The Slovakian champions edged past Midtjylland in their final Champions League qualifier, winning 4-3 on aggregate, but squaring up against players of City’s calibre will be like something they have never experienced before.

As well as being crushed at Celtic, Slovan were also beaten 5-0 at home by domestic rivals Zilina at the start of September and a record of only two clean sheets in 12 is a concerrn, especially if Erling Haaland is given the green light to start by Pep Guardiola.
City scored exactly three goals in all five of their Champions League away games last season, which includes at Leipzig and Real Madrid, and even with Guardiola rotating his squad, a wide-margin away win appears extremely likely.
City are 4-5 with bet365 to score four or more but taking the 8-13 on offer with Ladbrokes about the Citizens winning a game featuring over 3.5 goals may be a shrewder play.
Guardiola’s side conceded at Young Boys, Red Star Belgrade and Copenhagen in Europe last season and, to their credit, the hosts have failed to score only twice in 18 outings this term.
Key stat
Over 2.5 goals have been scored in Slovan Bratislava's last eight games.
Slovan Bratislava vs Manchester City team news
Slovan Bratislava
Defender Kenan Bajric is a doubt so Kevin Wimmer could start at centre-back. Right-back Lukas Pauschek and Swiss striker Adler are injured but midfielder Danylo Ignatenko has returned to action.
Manchester City
Rodri has been ruled out for the season and Nathan Ake and Oscar Bobb are also injured. Kevin De Bruyne is unlikely to be risked and a late decision will be made on Erling Haaland, who “picked up some knocks” in Saturday's 1-1 draw at Newcastle.

Slovan Bratislava vs Manchester City bet builder predictions
Phil Foden to score at any time
The England international has been largely underused this season but he scored five goals in eight Champions League appearances last term and should get the nod in Slovakia.
Over 7.5 Manchester City corners
Celtic had 11 corners in their 5-1 rout of Slovan Bratislava two weeks ago and, in what looks a mismatch, City can carve out at least eight.
Over two cards for Slovan Bratislava
The hosts had three first-half cards in their opening defeat at Celtic Park and they may get frustrated being starved of possession.
