RB Leipzig vs Liverpool predictions

Liverpool’s superb start under Arne Slot continued with Sunday's hard-fought 2-1 victory at home to Chelsea but there are two more big tests to come in the next five days, starting with a Champions League trip to RB Leipzig which may bring an end to their seven-match winning streak.

Moving on from Jurgen Klopp could have been tricky for the Merseysiders, who finished last season inconsistently and were nine points short of Manchester City's title-winning tally.

However, after winning ten of 11 fixtures under their new boss they are being talked about as contenders for the biggest prizes.

Claiming a seventh Champions League triumph is as long way off but Liverpool have made the ideal start thanks to victories in Milan and at home to Bologna.

Slot made just one change – Darwin Nunez for Diogo Jota - for the Bologna fixture but seems more likely to juggle his resources for the clash against Leipzig, which is sandwiched between two massive Premier League matches.

The Dutchman is again without Jota, who lasted just 29 minutes of the win at home to Chelsea, and must be tempted to rest a few of his other first-choice players to ensure he is fully prepared for Sunday's trip to Arsenal.

Liverpool's strong Champions League start means they have plenty of room for error, but the same cannot be said of Leipzig, who suffered defeats at Atletico Madrid and at home to Juventus.

Marco Rose's side opened the scoring on both occasions and played some decent football, but they have nothing to show for their efforts and approach the Liverpool game with a huge motivation.

Leipzig have established a winning habit in the Bundesliga and are second in the table, behind leaders Bayern Munich on goal difference, with 17 points from seven games.

Clean sheets have been kept in five of the league fixtures and Leipzig have looked as strong as ever in attack with Lois Openda bagging four Bundesliga goals and Benjamin Sesko and Xavi Simons helping themselves to two each.

Given their undoubted attacking quality, Leipzig would hope to at least advance beyond the league phase.

Narrow margins have being going against them but that may be about to change against Liverpool, who may be guilty of looking ahead to their crunch clash in the capital.

RB Leipzig vs Liverpool bet builder predictions

RB Leipzig to win
The Germans need a response after back-to-back Champions League defeats and have a decent chance against Liverpool, who may be distracted by their key weekend fixture away to Arsenal.

Benjamin Sesko to score at any time
Sesko has notched three times in his last two Champions League matches and could provide a match-winning moment for the home side.

Alexis Mac Allister to be carded
The Argentinian has collected three yellow cards this season and looks a strong candidate for another caution.
