Wednesday's Champions League predictions

Red Star Belgrade vs Stuttgart

Red Star Belgrade have lost all four of their Champions League assignments this season, leaking 16 goals in the process, the most in the competition.

They could struggle to tame Stuttgart, who have already beaten Juventus and overcame Bochum 2-0 in the Bundesliga on Saturday.

Sturm Graz vs Girona

Both of these sides are outside the playoff positions heading into matchday five of the Champions League but Girona at least have a win to their name and they should come out on top.

The La Liga club were hammered 4-0 by PSV last time out but they were reduced to ten men early on in the second half and ultimately conceded two goals in the final ten minutes.

Girona have reeled off three straight wins in the league and look well-placed to defeat the Austrians, who have lost all four of their Champions League matches, scoring just once.

Bologna vs Lille

Lille stretched their unbeaten run in all competitions to 11 matches with a 1-0 defeat of Rennes on Sunday and they have saved some of their best performances for the Champions League.

They beat Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid back-to-back before a draw with Juventus on matchday four and they should be too strong for Bologna.

The hosts had started to find their feet in Serie A before a 3-0 defeat to Lazio on Sunday and they have lost each of their last three Champions League games without scoring.

Dinamo Zagreb vs Borussia Dortmund

These sides have been involved in some of the highest-scoring fixtures in this season's Champions League - Dinamo Zagreb lost 9-2 to Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund hammered Celtic 7-1 - so there should be goals in their meeting on Wednesday.

Dortmund have blown hot and cold this term but go into this game after three wins in their last four matches, including a 4-0 thrashing of Freiburg on Saturday.

They can edge a high-scoring battle in Croatia, and backing a Dortmund win and over 2.5 goals looks the way to go.

Monaco vs Benfica

Monaco have been among the standout performers in this term's Champions League with ten points from four games and they will be hoping they can make home advantage count against Benfica.

PSV vs Shakhtar Donetsk

PSV picked up their first win of the Champions League this campaign when they spanked Girona 4-0 on matchday four.

But Shakhtar Donetsk also got going with a 2-1 victory against Young Boys earlier this month and this could be a tight contest.
