Celtic vs Club Brugge predictions
Club Brugge boast a decent away record in Europe and are enjoying a fine run of form both at home and abroad, but Celtic still look the bet at Parkhead in this Champions League matchday five clash.
Brendan Rodgers' runaway William Hill Scottish Premiership leaders have played two home games in the competition so far, thumping Slovan Bratislava 5-1 and beating Leipzig 3-1.
And if they are now at the kind of level when they are hurting high-class Bundesliga opposition on home soil, they become a difficult side to oppose.
The fly in the ointment this season is still that ludicrous 7-1 loss at Dortmund, but that is the only blip in a campaign which has yielded 16 wins and two draws in their other 18 contests.
They warmed up for this visit from the Belgian champions by winning 4-1 at Hearts and the Bhoys have now scored at least two goals in 17 of their 19 matches.
While Celtic have seven points to their name so far, Nicky Hayen's Brugge are on six, courtesy of 1-0 wins away at Sturm Graz and at home to Aston Villa.
Brugge were well worth the victory over Villa, however fortuitous their winner from the penalty spot after Tyrone Mings' blunder, and are unbeaten in six since a 3-1 loss at Milan where midfielder Raphael Onyedika's first-half red card was the turning point.
They thumped Sint-Truiden 7-1 in the Jupiler League at the weekend, although they are still six points adrift of leaders Genk.
Onyedika is available again after his one-match ban but injuries are hurting Brugge and a number of key absentees remain out for this clash.
Goals could be on the agenda but it's Celtic, feeling almost invincible in front of their own fans, who narrowly get the nod.
Key stat
Celtic have scored at least two goals in 17 of their 19 matches this season.
