Arsenal vs Paris St-Germain predictions

Arsenal are off to a strong start in the Premier League but they have won only one of their last six Champions League games – a record they will be eager to put right against Paris St-Germain on Tuesday.

Moving on after the Kylian Mbappe era was always going to be a challenge for PSG, but they appear to be doing just fine without the French superstar.

PSG have won six of their first seven outings this season and are already setting the pace in Ligue 1, having scored 20 goals in their opening six league fixtures.

Replacing Mbappe was always going to be nigh on impossible but Bradley Barcola is making a decent fist of stepping into his shoes.

Barcola has helped himself to six goals, including a double in Friday's 3-1 victory over Rennes which maintained the Parisians' 100 per cent home record.

The 22-year-old tops the Ligue 1 scoring charts and he is being ably supported by teammate Ousmane Dembele, who has delivered four goals and three assists.

Dembele has hit the ground running this season but he will be missing for the trip to the Emirates after being dropped from the squad following a reported fallout with PSG head coach Luis Enrique.

His absence may see Enrique hand a starting berth to his international teammate Randal Kolo Muani, who is another athletic, skilful player capable of stretching Arsenal's defence.

The Gunners defended superbly for the vast majority of their 2-2 draw at Manchester City, where they played the entire second half with ten men, but standards slipped during Saturday's frantic 4-2 home success win over Leicester.

Foxes full-back James Justin notched twice in the space of 17 second-half minutes and his exploits will not have gone unnoticed by PSG, who have scored in each of their last 11 fixtures.

The French visitors will fancy their chances of extending their scoring streak and also adding to their Champions League points tally.

Enrique's side began their European campaign with a deserved 1-0 triumph at home to Girona, who created very little over the course of the game.

PSG would expect a much sterner examination from Arsenal, who would consider themselves to be among the genuine contenders to lift the trophy.

Martin Odegaard's absence has been a blow for the Gunners, but there are plenty of other threats for the visitors to worry about.

Bukayo Saka has taken on extra creative responsibility – delivering five Premier League assists – while Kai Havertz has shown his quality with a goal in each of his last five games at the Emirates.

It is likely that one of them will provide a moment against PSG and that may be enough for the Gunners to grab draw of the league phase following their goalless opening stalemate at Atalanta two weeks ago.

Arsenal vs Paris St-Germain bet builder predictions

PSG or draw double chance
Paris St-Germain have started the season strongly and can extend Arsenal's winless sequence in the Champions League to four games.

Bradley Barcola to score at any time
The 22-year-old has netted six times this season and can make an impact at the Emirates.

Kai Havertz to be carded
The German was booked 13 times last season and he looks a strong candidate to enter referee Slavko Vincic's notebook.
