Arsenal vs Monaco Champions League predictions

A frustrating 1-1 draw with Fulham on Sunday marked the fifth time in eight Premier League games that Arsenal have dropped points in their hunt for the title but, luckily for the Gunners, they have slipped up on fewer occasions in Europe this term.

Mikel Arteta's side have made a strong start in their Champions League bid, taking ten points from a possible 15 and losing only to Italian champions Inter, who benefited from a contentious penalty award.

The Gunners have excelled at home in the competition, winning both of their home matches to nil to maintain the strong form they showed at the Emirates last season, when they won all of their three group games without conceding.

Clean sheets are something the Emirates faithful are becoming accustomed to and Arsenal have recorded four in their last seven outings in north London. Those shutouts came against Paris St-Germain, Shakhtar Donetsk, Nottingham Forest and Manchester United and it is difficult to envisage Monaco troubling a stubborn Gunners backline with regularity.

Even without William Saliba's usual defensive partner Gabriel, Arsenal limited Fulham and Manchester United to just four shots on target between them in their past two outings, showing just how resolute Arteta's side can be.

Monaco have also claimed ten points from their five league-phase matches, but they were beaten 3-2 by Benfica last time and their run of scoring in all of their Champions League games may be brought to an end at the Emirates.

The Monegasques have impressed going forwards but they may employ a more cautious approach on Wednesday due to the suspension of Wilfried Singo and his deputy Christian Mawissa.

Those key defensive injuries could leave Adi Hutter's side exposed at the back and limited in their attempts to build counter-attacks from deep.

Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Kai Havertz should exploit any space left by the visitors and it would be no surprise to see the Gunners score at least twice, extending this season's record at home to nine wins from 11 outings in the process.

Five of Arsenal's previous eight home wins have come to nil, three of them by a two-goal margin.

Given Monaco's absences in defence, splitting stakes between a 2-0 and 3-0 home win could provide a better route to profit than simply backing Arsenal to win to nil.

Key stat

Arsenal are unbeaten at home this season, with five of their eight wins at the Emirates accompanied by a clean sheet

Arsenal vs Monaco bet builder predictions

Arsenal to win
The Gunners have won eight of their ten home matches and it is hard to see a depleted Monaco causing them too many issues.

Bukayo Saka to score or assist
Arsenal's star man has scored three goals and provided four assists in his last five appearances.

William Saliba over 0.5 shots on target
With Gabriel out, William Saliba has picked up the role of being Arsenal's biggest aerial threat, scoring in each of the Gunners' last two matches, and he should steer an effort on target against Monaco.
