Bournemouth vs Chelsea predictions

Bournemouth's sensational comeback win over Everton broke the record for the latest turnaround from two goals down in Premier League history and the Cherries would no doubt have preferred to build on that straight away rather than take time out for an international break.

However, a brilliant home record and solid start to the season suggest that Bournemouth should still have enough to frustrate Chelsea, who look like a work in progress.

Bournemouth have lost only one of their last eight home matches and given they have held Manchester United and Newcastle – sides who finished within three points of Chelsea last term – in that run, they can hold out for a point against the big-spending Blues to maintain their unbeaten start to the season.

Optimistic Cherries fans may even be dreaming of a win over Enzo Maresca's men but it is hard to rule out a side filled with so much talent which can explode at any moment, as they showed in their last league away game at Wolves.

Chelsea landed an astounding 6-2 win at Molineux and with Pedro Neto, Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson combining extremely well in the Black Country, there were signs that the embryonic Blues could be a real force given time.

The Blues are unbeaten in five meetings with Bournemouth and most Chelsea fans will be expecting three points on the south coast.

A 1-1 home draw with Crystal Palace following their impressive victory over Wolves showed the Blues' continued inconsistency, however, and they may again come up short at the Vitality.

Chelsea's attack is frightening when they are all firing, but Bournemouth's frontline is also extremely dangerous and the fact they are a more settled side suggests these teams are well matched, for now at least.

The Cherries' standout attacker this season has been Antoine Semenyo, who has scored two goals and provided one assist in his three league appearances.

The Ghanaian's form has helped ease the exit of last season's 19-goal hero Dominic Solanke and the winger could have a big impact against the Blues, who are without a clean sheet in their last 22 away matches.

No player has taken more shots in the Premier League this season than Semenyo's total of 17 and the lively Bournemouth star looks set to continue his excellent start to the campaign with another goal involvement against a Chelsea side still finding their feet, helping the Cherries to a point in the process.
