Derbyshire can continue their fine start to the T20 Blast with a victory over Birmingham Bears at Edgbaston.

The Falcons were 40-1 rags in the ante-post betting but they beat holders Northamptonshire and a powerful Yorkshire side in their first two games and chased 187 to see off Worcestershire on Wednesday.

They fell five runs short of an even more impressive chase on Friday, posting 221-5 in a narrow defeat at Nottinghamshire, and overseas bowlers Imran Tahir and Matt Henry should trouble a Birmingham side who have lost their last three games.

The Bears’ latest setback came against Yorkshire at Headingley on Friday and the Vikings should claim another home win when they face Worcestershire.

David Willey struck 70 off 38 balls against the Bears but Yorkshire have plenty of other dangerous hitters and Adam Lyth (82) and Shaun Marsh (60) powered them to a whopping total of 227-5 against Notts in their first game of the season in Leeds.

Former Worcestershire man Tom Kohler-Cadmore is another dynamic batsman and the Rapids are struggling to pose competitive scores without him.

In all three of their completed games, their opponents have comfortably chased down under-par targets.
