Former Premier League star Nathan Aspinall tops the bill on Night Four of the Paddy Power World Darts Championship when he tries to bring likeable American vet Leonard Gates down a peg or two.

Jim Williams v Paolo Nebrida predictions

Welshman Williams ought to have too much consistency for Nebrida, although the Filipino's two previous trips to the Palace have demonstrated that he can play.

A four-time winner on the Asian Tour this year, Nebrida made his debut in this tournament two years ago and fell at the first hurdle to Danny Jansen, then 12 months ago he once again bowed out creditably, this time 3-2 against Simon Whitlock.

Williams has had an okay year but done nothing to suggest he can blow his experienced opponent away.

Madars Razma v Christian Kist predictions

The constantly crocked Christian Kist beat Madars Razma 6-2 in their one meeting this year on the Pro Tour and enjoyed three wins on the super-tough Challenge Tour.

And if we could be sure the Dutchman is through the worst of his ailments it would be fair to say that as a former BDO world champion he has every chance.

But that's an unknown and Madars Razma has had a really good year in 2024, reaching the semis of the Baltic Sea Open and three quarter-finals and a semi on the floor.

One of the Latvian's traits is his use of the 19s - more than any other player - so a double on Razma to win and Kist to hit most 180s could come off.

Ricky Evans v Gordon Mathers predictions

Rapid Ricky enjoyed a first half to 2024, reaching the UK Open semis and a Pro Tour final.

Since August, however, he has played in 14 Players Championship events and endured 13 first-round exits.

Gordon Mathers won a fairly low-quality Oceanic Masters so this doesn't look a great heat. Evans, who has won his last five first-round matches at the Palace, should win but is short enough.

Nathan Aspinall v Leonard Gates predictions

American seniors star Leonard Gates reduced Cameron Menzies to tears on Monday night but will find Nathan Aspinall a different proposition.

The Souljer had three massive ton-plus finishes and a couple more heartbreaking combination finishes and it beggars belief that he could pull those stunts again.

The Asp, another player coming back from injury, should be trusted to take care of his opponent routinely enough.
