What is the PDC Home Tour?

The PDC announced a new event to keep sport rolling during the coronavirus pandemic.

The Home Tour event has now reached the second stage and will be streamed on bookmaker websites.

Each session starts at 7.30pm and will see four stars do battle in nightly round-robin groups which are played over the best-of-11 legs. The eight group winners will progress through to the next phase.

That last eight will be two groups of four and the top two in each will provide the four-person Championship group which will determine the overall competition winner.

Friday's PDC Home Tour playoff Group Four preview

Dave Chisnall dropped just three legs to reach the second phase of the PDC Home Tour and is favourite to advance from a section containing Darren Webster, Damon Heta and Geert Nentjes.

Chizzy has been runner-up in several PDC premier events and holds a class edge on his rivals in playoff Group Four.

However, odds-on favourites have frequently been toppled in the home-based competition and there's little value in taking short prices about a player who tends to blow hot and cold.

Aussie ace Damon Heta, who has won numerous titles in his homeland, is his chief market rival but once again must contend with the time difference in Perth.

Heta earned his PDC tour card at the start of the year and clearly has talent while Webster is a PDC regular capable of troubling his opponents. However, at the prices, it's worth backing Nentjes to spring a surprise.

The Dutchman won twice on the Development Tour last season and was in fine form in Group Four of the first phase, averaging in excess of 95 in each match.

The 21-year-old fired eight 180s to see off Ross Smith, Lisa Ashton and Mickey Mansell and is value for the upset if sharpening up on his doubles.
