GB athletes must stand tall to hit target

THE athletes of Great Britain and Northern Ireland have conquered the world at sitting-down sports – cycling, rowing, sailing and equestrianism – at the last two Olympic Games, but they need to stand tall if they are to meet lofty expectations in Brazil.
Team GB set a record tally of 47 medals in the 2008 Beijing Games, taking fourth place in both golds and total medals thanks in part to the exploits of Chris Hoy, Bradley Wiggins and Rebecca Adlington.
On home turf at the London Games they smashed that figure.
