West Indies Women vs Scotland Women prediction

West Indies and Scotland both have to bounce back from opening defeats in Group B of the Women's T20 World Cup and the Windies are as short as 1-5 to make the positive response on Sunday.

The West Indies suffered a ten-wicket humiliation in their World Cup opener against South Africa while Scotland were beaten by 16 runs against Bangladesh, limping to a total of 103 after their 20 overs.

Scotland are pretty reliant on Bryce sisters Sarah and Kathryn to score their runs and they are likely to be outclassed by the Windies, who have the excellent Hayley Matthews as captain and opener and the destructive Deandra Dottin coming in at four or five.

Stafanie Taylor top-scored for the West Indies against South Africa with her 44 coming off 41 balls, but Matthews may be the crucial component against Scotland.

Matthews starred as the Welsh Fire made the final of this season’s Hundred and not only can she score runs, but she took 11 wickets with her spin in eight matches of that competition.

With that in mind, it could be worth backing the 26-year-old to be the player of the match as the Windies bid to get their World Cup campaign back on track.
