West Indies Women vs New Zealand Women prediction

The Women's T20 World Cup ante-post market expected the second semi-final to be between England and India but, after an eventful group stage, West Indies Women will take on New Zealand Women in the last-four clash in Sharjah.

New Zealand's campaign started with a hugely impressive 58-run win against India in Group A and they secured second place in the section thanks to comfortable victories over Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

The West Indies, in contrast, lost their opening game by ten wickets against South Africa but Tuesday's surprise six-wicket victory over England kept alive their hopes of a second T20 World Cup crown.

The match odds favour New Zealand, who have won 15 of the previous 22 completed T20 internationals against the West Indies, although the White Ferns were bowled out for 88 by Australia in one of their two group games in Sharjah.

The Windies overcame the absence of key all-rounder Stafanie Taylor to end England's campaign in Dubai.

They were helped by a series of dropped catches from England, whose captain Heather Knight was forced to retire hurt during the first innings of the match, and their big-hitting batters will be wary of the threat posed by New Zealand leg-spinner Amelia Kerr.

The 24-year-old has had a terrific tournament and she was the leading wicket-taker in the group stage, claiming ten scalps in four matches.

Six of those came in two matches in Sharjah, where Kerr took 4-26 against a formidable Australia side, dismissing Beth Mooney, Ellyse Perry, Grace Harris and Georgia Wareham.

She sealed New Zealand's place in the semi-finals on Monday, taking 3-14 in 2.4 overs in the must-win group fixture against Pakistan in Dubai, and she looks a good bet to be the White Ferns' top bowler.
